December 15th, 2002: "The 'S' Files", the children's Christmas
musical, was a smashing success. The kids worked hard during practices
and did a great job during the performance. Thanks to all the parents,
families, and church workers for supporting this. Pictures available here.
December 1st, 2002: A wonderful service was held to start the advent
season. Thank you to all who planed, setup, and participated.

August 11th, 2002: A dusty and tiring, but wonderful time has had by those
who attended camp meeting this year. Pictures are available at here.
August 4th, 2002: Pastor Charles Tarr and his wife Betty have accepted our
invitation to be our interim pastor. Pray for them as they lead our
congregation during this time.
July 16th, 2002: Camp Whitebranch has put up pictures from the
first two camps of the summer on their website. Go to www.campwhitebranch.com
and click on the "Camp pictures?" link on the right side of the
page. Check them out and see how many people you recognize. I
would guess that they will be posting pictures about every week after
camps get over so go back and check for more pictures throughout the
summer. If you see one that you like go ahead and print it out and
share it.
July 7th, 2002: The congregation voted overwhelmingly to hire Julie Ammons as
our Christian Education Minister. Julie has been a volunteer in this
position for the last ten years with our congregation and has recently been
licensed through the state ministerial assembly. Congratulations
Julie.

June 21st, 2002: This years VBS was, according to Julie
Ammons CE Director, "The best one ever". As always this
was an awesome ministry to
our community. Some pictures are here.
We had around 175 kids each day along with 50 wonderful staff. As we
pass the scenery and decorations along to other churches it is evident that
the work we do touches not only our community, but many, many others as
well. Praise God for his wonderful mercies to us.
June 15th, 2002: "VBS Roundup" was held with a lot of hard work and
help from many wonderful people throughout the day. Thank you all for
making this event a success! Some pictures of this event are here.
April 7th, 2002: A potluck was held after church along with a
"farewell" service to honor the Dow family for their years of
ministry here at Rainier Community Church of God. Special guests from
the community included Rev. Steve Beery from Alston's Corner Assembly of
God, David Neat from Hudson Park Elementary School, and Terry Grice from
St.Helens/Rainier Fire District.
February 10th, 2002: Pastor Steve announced his resignation. He has accepted a call to pastor the Albany Church of God.
His last Sunday here will be April 7th.
